le attrazioni in val di fassa ladini tradizioni cultura cucina

Weekly Winter Program 2017/2018

In Vigo you will find the Ladino Museum of Fassa where we strongly recommend that you take a break. Here you can visit the ethnographic collections of Istitut Cultural Ladin, the result of long and deep researches on Ladin culture. A very interesting journey in the history of the Ladin community, from prehistory to today, through a large number of material testimonies.

Other museums, with their own local sections, are scattered throughout the valley to form a real ethnographic path that will allow you to know the Ladin culture.

Are you interested in minerals?

In Vigo stands the Mineralogical Museum Monzoni, the most complete private collection of minerals with over 200 varieties of stones and rocks with strange names coming from various areas of the Dolomites. A very interesting visit that offers absolutely complete documentation on the minerals that form our beautiful mountains. Many also have children's workshops.

Have you ever seen a malga? A didactic farm?

Malgas are very simple structures built of stone and wood and are used for livestock housing during the summer. These are very important elements for effectively managing mountain life. There are several in the Val di Fassa.

During a visit to the malga or the didactic farm with your children, you will see how milk is processed, you can buy some typical products or taste the freshly made cheese and the freshly cut speck.

The Spas of Pozza

In Pozza di Fassa lies the Dolomia Thermal Center. Thanks to the water that feeds these spas, it is possible to carry out many therapies with the National Health Service or follow aesthetic treatments for the beauty and well-being of your body. Around the extraordinary landscape of the Dolomites to exalt the beneficial properties of these waters.

Lake Carezza

About 12 kilometers from Vigo is Lake Carezza, a wonderful alpine lake also known as the Rainbow Lake for the fantastic game of colors that forms on the surface of its waters. The lake is not fed by rivers but by underground springs that descend from the Latemar peaks. If you want to spend a quiet day, we recommend a walk around the lake. Nearby is the famous Golf Club Carezza, a 9-hole golf course surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

The Sanctuary of Pietralba

40 km from our hotel lies the Sanctuary of Pietralba, one of the main religious pilgrimage sites in Trentino Alto Adige, at 1520 meters above sea level between Nova Ponente and Monte San Pietro. The origins of the sanctuary date back to 1553 when a farmer in the place, a certain Leonhard Weißensteiner, found an alabaster statue depicting the Pietà. The Virgin Mary had appeared to the man who had cured him from her illness. As a thank you, Madonna asked him to build a church where his faithful could have worshiped him.

And if you want to take the car, we recommend:
